OTC and United Against Human Trafficking Continue Partnership

Monday, April 15, 2019

Houston, Texas, USA (15 April 2019) – The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) and United Against Human Trafficking (UAHT) are proud to continue their now five-year partnership to provide awareness, education, and outreach to end human trafficking.

Utilizing UAHT resources, OTC helps educate attendees and exhibitors about the warning signs of human trafficking in communications before and during the conference. This outreach includes an education booth for UAHT, located in NRG Center, Level 1, Hall D, throughout the conference, 6–9 May.

“OTC is proud to sustain its partnership with United Against Human Trafficking in 2019,” OTC Board of Directors Chairman Wafik Beydoun said. “This agreement exemplifies OTC’s dedication and desire to raise awareness and educate industry professionals in ways to recognize potential trafficking situations.”

Based in Houston, UAHT increases awareness by training law enforcement, first responders, healthcare workers, social service providers, and business owners on how to identify and combat human trafficking in the greater Houston community. The vision of UAHT is to aspire for all people to experience freedom and live beyond bondage to others. OTC is proud to support this vision.

“We are grateful to continue the partnership with the Offshore Technology Conference,” UAHT Executive Director Timeka Walker said. “United Against Human Trafficking is dedicated to uniting the community in the fight against human trafficking. We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with OTC on this very important issue that impacts our city.”

UAHT is one of the many charities supported by OTC. In fact, the 51-year-old conference maintains a strong commitment to serving the greater Houston community through the OTC Beneficiary program, which has donated more than USD 1.7 million to local charities over the past eight years.
