OTC Brasil Conference Issues Call for Papers
on Deepwater Offshore Topics
For New Event in Rio de Janeiro in 2011
Richardson, Texas (25 January 2011) – The 2011 OTC Brasil Program Committee has issued a call for technical paper submissions for the inaugural conference that will address the deepwater offshore sector in Brazil and around the world, scheduled in Rio de Janeiro 4-6 October 2011.
Technical paper proposals on technical advancements, new methods, case studies, or practical applications are due by 1 March 2011, and can be submitted online at www.otcbrasil.org. A suggested list of topics is available on the website.
“For several decades, Brazil has made significant technological contributions to the E&P industry in deep- and ultradeepwater. With the recent discoveries in presalt reservoirs and shallow waters, new technologies and solutions are being developed. However, these discoveries also pose new challenges for the industry to face including the increasing requirement to maximize local content and develop local R&D and industrial capacity,” said 2011 OTC Brasil Program Cochairperson Ricardo Juiniti, wells operations executive manager of OGX.
OTC Brasil Program Cochairperson David Brookes, chief engineer of subsea and floating systems for BP, added, “OTC Brasil is inviting paper proposals on a wide range of technical and operating challenges. Topics include offshore drilling and wells systems, floating structures, and advanced subsea production, as well as the increasingly complex integrity management to keep them operating. Papers on HSE, emergency response and local content topics are also being sought.”
OTC Brasil is a new event that will present technical presentations, plenary sessions, a young professional event and an exhibition, sponsored by the Offshore Technology Conference --one of the most important technical events in the E&P world.
