The legacy of OTC is its ongoing contribution to the permanent literature and the business culture of the offshore industry. Both are reflected in these archives.
In various forms and formats, these archives capture the essence of the times as well as the acuity of the technical program. Much can be learned by searching these resources: indicators of the economic and geopolitical conditions; trends and directions of technology's evolution; and even a glimpse into the social fabric of many nations.
Technical papers presented at previous OTCs are housed in the online library OnePetro, and can be downloaded for a nominal fee.
