RICHARDSON, Texas, USA (25 February 2008) The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) has announced the 14 technologies that will receive the 2008 Spotlight on New Technology Awards, recognizing innovative technologies significantly impacting offshore exploration and production. The awards will be presented at 4 p.m. Monday, 5 May, at the conference, which occurs 5-8 May at Reliant Park in Houston.
The Spotlight on New Technology program gives exhibitors an opportunity to showcase their latest and most advanced technologies to more than 67,000 attendees at OTC. Winning technologies are selected on four criteria:
- New and Innovative – less than two years old
- Proven – through full-scale application or successful prototype testing
- Broad Interest – a broad appeal for the industry
- Significant Impact – provides significant benefits beyond existing technologies
