RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (May 15, 2006) The 2006 Frank Frazer
Award recognizing journalistic excellence at the Offshore Technology
Conference (OTC) has been presented to David Morgan, editor-in-chief
of Offshore Engineer magazine. The annual award was presented on
May 1 during the conference by journalists who cover OTC.
Morgan has been editing engineering, construction and mining magazines
in Africa and Europe in a career that spans almost 40 years. He
joined Offshore Engineer in 1982, and is currently its editor-in-chief,
as well as its sister publication, Asian Oil & Gas. Morgan
works outside of London. He has covered 20 OTC events, the world’s
largest offshore conference that is held annually in Houston, Texas.
“I am honored to receive the Frank Frazer award, particularly
as it is one where the winner is selected by the journalist’s
peer group,” said Morgan.
The Frank Frazer Award is sponsored annually by Weatherford International.
It honors Frank Frazer, a journalist for The Scotsman who established
himself as one of the UK’s leading writers on the offshore
industry and who regularly covered OTC.
