RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (April 18, 2006) – The Offshore Technology Conference, the world’s largest event for the development of offshore oil and gas resources, will be even bigger in 2006, with expanded exhibit space in two new Pavilions and 2,214 total exhibitors from 33 countries at the show scheduled for 1-4 May at Reliant Center in Houston, Texas.
The two state-of-the-art Pavilions are adjacent to Reliant Center and provide enclosed, climate-controlled space for 250 exhibiting companies. The Pavilions add almost 55,000 square feet of new exhibit space beyond the Reliant Center main exhibit hall and outdoor exhibit areas. This year, the exhibit area totals more than 470,000 net square feet (over 43,200 square meters), or the equivalent of 11 ½ football fields.
“We are excited that we can provide even more exhibit space this year through the Pavilions, which will allow many companies that have been on a waiting list to exhibit at OTC for the first time. Exhibitors know the world comes to OTC -- more than 50,000 attendees are expected from 110 countries to see the latest technology advancements and the widest range of offshore products and services offered anywhere in the world,” said Arnis Judzis, 2006 chairman of the OTC Board of Directors. “With the increased demand for oil and gas, companies are seeking technology solutions that will help them produce more from every well and to access resources in ever deeper waters to provide the energy the world needs.”
Anchor companies with more than 1,000 square feet of exhibit space in the Pavilions are Welltec Inc., the Singapore Pavilion (10 exhibitors), Oil & Natural Gas Corp., Marine Technologies, Foster & Hendricks Manufacturing, Oderco Inc., Hub City Iron Works and Impact Solutions.
OTC has 246 new exhibitors in 2006. Attendees will be able to register inside the Pavilions, and special activities are planned to encourage visitors to the new areas.
In addition, OTC is providing more shuttles from Reliant parking areas, which stop at the Pavilions. Also this year, local Houston-area attendees can park at any official OTC hotel and ride a shuttle to Reliant Park.
