Canada, Libya and Norway Are Focus of OTC .05 Industry Breakfasts

RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (February 11, 2005) – Three Industry Breakfasts bring together industry leaders from around the world to discuss key developing regions at the 2005 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The breakfasts are scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3 through Thursday, May 5.

The breakfasts are organized by OTC and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Tuesday, May 3 - Canada's Evolving Offshore Oil and Gas Industries
Participants: The Honourable Ed Byrne, Minister of Mines and Energy, Newfoundland & Labrador
The Honourable Cecil P. Clarke, Minister of Energy, Nova Scotia

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Offshore Technology Conference Board of Directors, this event will feature an overview of Canada's oil and gas reserves with a focus on recent developments in Atlantic Canada's oil and gas fields and the current fiscal environment for offshore oil and gas investments. Public and private sector representatives will also provide updates on the development of liquefied natural gas import terminals in Atlantic Canada.

Wednesday, May 4 - Norwegian Offshore Opportunities
Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Offshore Technology Conference Board of Directors, this event will highlight commercial opportunities and Norway's efforts to increase exploration and production activity on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Officials from the Norwegian government will discuss the resource situation and the framework conditions on the NCS.

Thursday, May 5 - Libya: Status of the Oil and Gas Sector

Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Offshore Technology Conference Board of Directors, this event will offer public and private sector presentations on commercial prospects in Libya's oil and gas sector and on Libya's desire to attract new investment in its energy sector.
