RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (26 May 2004) – The Offshore
Technology Conference (OTC) board of directors appoints Doug Stroud,
Corporate
Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Canyon Offshore Inc., and
announces several re-appointments during this year's event held
3-6 May at Reliant Center at Reliant Park in Houston.
Rod Allan, Director of Technical Services, Eurafrican Unit of Transocean
Offshore, continues his two-year term as the OTC .05 Chairman.
Bill Luyties, Lunskoye Project Manager, Sakhalin Energy Investment
Co., was appointed for a two-year term as Vice Chairman in 2004.
Both Allan and Luyties have served on the OTC Board for five years.
Allan represents the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers,
while Luyties represents the American Society of Civil Engineers.
"After such a successful event this year, we all look forward
to 2005," said Allan. "Doug Stroud is replacing Charlie
Richards on the Board. Richards spent 8 years as a board member
and as the 2002-2003 Chairman. Don Vardemen, Peter Kinnear and
John Irwin all have been re-appointed to four-year terms. OTC is
proud to have such a great representation of both service and operating
companies on the board. It takes such a team to create the world's
largest, premier offshore technology conference."

- Arnis Judzis, TerraTek, representing American Institute of
Chemical Engineers
- Peter Kinnear, FMC Technologies, representing Petroleum Equipment
Suppliers Association
- Alain Labastie, Total, representing SPE
- Doug Stroud, Canyon Offshore Inc., representing Marine Technology
Society
- Don Vardeman, Kerr-McGee Corp., representing Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers-Oceanic Engineering Society
Members of the OTC Board are appointed for up to two four-year
terms by their respective society or organization. The OTC Board
includes 13 representatives, 11 from OTC's sponsoring organizations
and two from OTC's endorsing organizations. The two officers, the
Chairman and the Vice Chairman, serve two-year terms.
OTC .05, "A Sea of Resources – An Ocean of Knowledge," is
scheduled 2-5 May at Reliant Center at Reliant Park.
