CNG, Angola and Qatar Are Focus of OTC .04 Industry Breakfasts

RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (20 February 2004) – Three Industry Breakfasts bring together industry leaders from around the world to discuss key developing regions at the 2004 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The breakfasts are scheduled Tuesday, 4 May through Thursday, 6 May from 7:30 to 9 a.m. (0730 to 0900).

After two very successful years, the Industry Breakfasts continue to draw strong participation from OTC attendees. Last year's breakfasts experienced record-breaking attendance. The Industry Breakfasts take place at Reliant Center, and each breakfast costs U.S. $25 to attend.

Tuesday, 4 May - CNG: An Emerging Marine Gas Transport Industry

Bill Sember, Vice President Offshore Development, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
Axel Meisen, President, Memorial University of New Foundland

Recent technological breakthroughs and advanced engineering designs have substantially improved compressed natural gas (CNG) capabilities and attractiveness, taking this promising gas monetization alternative to the threshold of major commercial application. This breakfast panel discussion reviews the status of the emerging CNG industry and describes how it is expected to be deployed and become another valuable tool for E&P developers in the commercialization of the world's stranded gas reserves.

Wednesday, 5 May - Examining Angola's Offshore Opportunities

George Yapuncich, Director of Business Development, Angola, Baker Hughes

Hosted by the Department of Commerce, this breakfast will feature senior representatives from Angola's Ministry of Petroleum and Sonangol, Angola's energy parastatal. The presentation highlights commercial opportunities and Angola's desire to attract new investment to its energy sector. It includes a presentation from a senior industry analyst and a representative from a successful U.S. energy services company operating in Angola. It concludes with a question-and-answer period.

Thursday, 6 May - Commercial Opportunities in Qatar's Offshore Oil and Gas Sectors
J. Anthony Meyer, Vice President, International and Alaska Operations, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, this event features senior representatives from Qatar's Ministry of Energy and Industry and Qatar Petroleum. The presentation highlights commercial opportunities in Qatar offshore oil and gas sectors and the Qatari Government's role in stimulating investment in its offshore energy sector. The panel includes a presentation from a representative from a successful U.S. energy company operating in Qatar.
