RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (4 March 2002) - The Offshore Technology
Conference, one of the largest and most respected oil and gas industry
events in the world, has a new home beginning in 2002.
This year's conference, scheduled May 6-9, takes place at Reliant
Center at Reliant Park, adjacent to Reliant Hall and Reliant Arena
- the longtime home for OTC. The 1.4-million-gross-square-foot complex,
scheduled to be ready in April, boasts 706,213 square feet of contiguous,
single-level exhibit space.
"We are excited about Reliant Center for many reasons. First, all
of the events at OTC - the technical sessions, the Topical Luncheons,
the exhibition - take place under one roof," said Tom Pellet, General
Manager for OTC. "Also, I believe attendees will enjoy the fact
that all of the exhibits are on one floor and the technical sessions
are within easy access to the exhibits. It makes it easier to get
around. And they will notice many up-to-date amenities at Reliant
Center."
All exhibit space at Reliant Center is located on the ground level.
The 72 meeting rooms on the ground and mezzanine levels average
1,200 square feet in size and the two largest meeting rooms are
17,000 and 22,000 square feet. Four sets of dual escalators and
six elevators are available for OTC participants to easily move
between the two levels.
Details about Reliant Center can be found in the attached fact
sheet.
Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is the
world's foremost event for the development of offshore resources
in the fields of drilling, exploration, production and environmental
protection. OTC is held annually in May at Reliant Center at Reliant
Park in Houston. For more information, visit the OTC 2002 Web site
