RICHARDSON, Texas, U.S.A. (29 January 2002)-Participants
in the 2002 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) can expect to enjoy
many benefits of the world's leading offshore conference year-round
with today's debut of iOTC, an online community of oil and gas companies.
iOTC - "Your Offshore Technology Resource
Center" - can be found at www.iOTCnet.org or through the official
2002 OTC Web site at www.OTCnet.org.
The new service, designed to expand the exhibitors'
presence and marketing capabilities at OTC, provides a lead retrieval
program that generates year-round communication between exhibitors
and customers.
"iOTC is bringing the world's largest offshore
event online," said Charlie Richards, OTC 2002 Chairman. "The
iOTC is a Web site that provides consumers with one location to
search, navigate, and communicate directly with all the key offshore
companies that are exhibiting at OTC. iOTC will benefit exhibitors
and other members of the offshore industry by allowing them to communicate
anywhere and at anytime."
iOTC provides many resources to exhibitors, showcasing
their company, products, and services, while reaching a global offshore
community and extending the four-day event to 365 days. Through
the Web site, exhibitors will have the capability to respond, interact,
and promote to a targeted audience. Each exhibitor controls their
listing, allowing them to access and update their information in
real time, keeping information fresh and relevant for the visitors.
As a new feature in 2002, iOTC is an online exhibitor
service of OTC, which brings more than 1,600 exhibiting companies
and subsidiaries to Houston annually. Using iOTC, industry professionals
will be able to request specific information from participating
companies. Visitors will find online alphabetical directories of
exhibitors or directories listed by product/service categories,
the opportunity to post business cards, a bulletin board, a news
center with real-time news, and a Web cast center. Users also will
have the capability to search the site for companies by the business
name or the product/service category.
The site also features "My Zone," a
virtual business center that allows exhibitors and other users to
organize contact information. Under "My Zone," both exhibitors
and users can maintain a history of contacts. "My Contacts"
provides the ability to manage and review contacts, send messages,
and go directly to exhibitor listings or Web sites. "My Messages"
keeps a chronicle of each contact made to and from the exhibitors
in iOTC.
Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology
Conference is the world's foremost event for the development of
offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production
and environmental protection. OTC is held annually in May at Reliant
Park at Reliant Center in Houston. For more information, visit the
OTC 2002 Web site at www.OTCnet.org.
