1215–1345Riocentro, Pav 5 - Room 203ABTOPICAL LUNCHEON 5: ECOPETROLSpeaker: João Clark Established 60 years ago in Colombia, Ecopetrol has been working in all value chains of the petroleum business: E&P, transportation, processing, refining and commercialization. On the E&P sector, in 2010, Ecopetrol reached a production of 616.000 BOED and 1.7 billion BOE net proved reserves, 370.000 BOD crude exports and resulting in USD 19 billion revenues. A defined goal for 2020 is to produce 1.3 million BOED with no human accidents or environmental incidents and totalize 4.9 billion BOE of proved reserves. The E&P 2011–2020 investment plan comprises USD 64 billion. Management of exploratory risk, consolidate geological knowledge, a high standard security, and environmental policy are the basic pillars for Ecopetrol’s exploration strategy. The company represents knowledge and experience on the Caribbean offshore and Pacific offshore in Colombia and Peru, and the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil offshore in the Santos, Campos, Pará-Maranhão, and Espirito Santo basins. In short, Ecopetrol is an international player with the capacity to incorporate reserves and increase production of oil and natural gas in a sustainable way. |

1215–1345Riocentro, Pav 5 - Room 204 ABCTOPICAL LUNCHEON 6: OGX: A SUCCESSFUL BRAZILIAN COMPANYSpeaker: Paulo Mendonça, OGX Since its creation in 2007, OGX has been a leader in the Brazilian oil and natural gas exploration and production sector. From July 2007 when it was at zero market cap, it has grown to USD 23.7 billion just after its IPO (June 2008), then to USD 30 billion in July 2011. Today, OGX is responsible for the second largest exploration drilling campaign in Brazil, after Petrobras, with eight operating drilling rigs operating. Operations include two onshore, one jack-up to start operation soon, and a drilling program that encompasses nearly 90 exploration wells to be drilled until 2013. OGX exploratory campaign is now drilling its 53rd exploration well, with an overall success rate of more than 90%. OGX has already discovered 4.1 billion BOE of oil and natural gas leaving 6.7 billion BOE to be of potential resources. To achieve its goals, OGX expenditures/investments reached USD 2.24 billion from July 2007 to March 2011, and the company will soon start its first production in the Campos basin, four years after its creation. |
