Marine 3D Seismic Surveys – The Basics3D Seismic Surveys in the Offshore: A Brief Introduction to What They Are and How They Are Used in Exploration and Production Reliant Arena, Level 2, Room 2 This 90-minute session will introduce those with little or no formal science background to the use of seismic surveys offshore as it is applied to exploration and production problems in the oil and gas industry. The goal is to give each attendee a basic understanding of how 3D and 4D seismic surveys are shot and how equipment is employed. We will illustrate with brief examples some of the basic concepts about how the data is used.

Topical BreakfastsLonghorn and the Corral Platform Reliant Arena, Level 2, Room 2 Speaker: Marco Bressan, Project Manager, Eni The Longhorn field lies in the region of central Mississippi Canyon (MC), in 502 / 546 blocks approximately 60 miles offshore Louisiana in 2,500 ft of water depth. Eni is the operator with 75%, and Nexen is the partner with 25%. The Longhorn development consists of a 20-mile subsea tie back through a dismissed military dump site area of 4 wells to the Eni-operated Corral Platform, previously known as Crystal Platform. Corral Platform has been upgraded with newly fabricated 250 MMSCFD processing and compressing capacity modules. At the end of October 2009, Eni started production from the Longhorn gas field 3 years after first discovery and less than 2 years from project sanction.
