Message from the Chairman

Dear Colleagues,

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is a grassroots effort supported, coordinated, and executed by volunteers like you and the collaboration of many nonprofit professional organizations. Over the last 41 years, our passion and contributions have allowed the conference to grow in stature, and it is now recognized internationally as the world's foremost offshore oil and gas conference.

With today's turbulent economy, we are again being challenged to show the path forward with new technologies and alternatives to secure energy for the global economy. While we each may only work on one specific aspect of the energy equation, when we come together, we demonstrate to the world that our efforts all fit together to meet the energy challenge.

On behalf of the OTC societies, I encourage you to collect your new ideas, thoughts, technologies, unique experiences, projects, and lessons learned and share them with your colleagues and peers at OTC 2010 so we can advance together in these challenging times. OTC is your event–take ownership of it by sharing your knowledge. Abstracts will be accepted online until 1 September 2009.

Every year with the help of professionals like you, we create a technical program that become both the envy of our industry and a benchmark for technological innovation. OTC is our yearly commitment to visit with each other, share our knowledge, and showcase our best work.
