Wolfgang E. Schollnberger currently serves as an international energy adviser. In 2004, he retired from BP as technology vice president after a 37-year industry career.  He joined BP in 1998 with the merger of BP and Amoco. He had served with Amoco since 1979  in a number of operational and management positions, including vice president of exploration for Amoco, and led the company’s entry into new exploration and production ventures worldwide. Schollnberger began his career at OMV in Austria and Royal Dutch/Shell in the Netherlands and Spain.

In addition to his technology leadership, Schollnberger has a long record of industry service, including serving as chairman of the Board of the Offshore Technology Conference from 1999 to 2001, and as the 1994 OTC Technical Program chairman. A native of Austria, he earned a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Vienna in 1971.
