Distinguished Achievement Awards

Each year, OTC recognizes individuals and companies that have made outstanding contributions to the offshore industry. The accomplishments recognized through the OTC awards program represent breakthroughs, innovation, and technology enhancement by individuals, and by companies or organizations. In some years, OTC also makes a special citation to recognize other notable activities or developments that benefit the offshore industry.

Award Qualifications

Candidates (individuals, organizations, or companies) must have made significant and unique contributions to any field of offshore technology, or have demonstrated significant and unique achievements in any field of offshore technology. This includes, but is not limited to, the design, development, and construction of tools, equipment, technical services, vessels, instrumentation, and/or outstanding humanitarian and leadership service or contributions to environmental efforts.

Submit a Nomination

Submit a nomination package by email using the MS Word nomination form. Be sure to indicate how the committee can contact you for more information.

2009 Awards Timeline

  • 19 September 2008 - Deadline to submit preliminary nomination form and supporting information
  • Early October 2008 - Awards Committee meets to review initial nominations
  • October and November 2008 - Committee may request additional information on nominees
  • 15 November 2008 - Final nomination packages due, if more information requested
  • January 2009 - Awards Committee meets to review and select award winners
  • Late January - Winners are notified
  • 1 March 2009 - OTC Press Release announcing award winners
  • 5 May 2009 - OTC Awards Luncheon
