Officials from the Ministry of Petroleum, Board of Investment and other agencies will provide an overview of the country’s upcoming first licensing round, which will offer highly prospective offshore acreage in the Gulf of Mannar and Cauvery Basin. Sri Lankan officials and industry experts will review the country’s offshore drilling history, recent geophysical work, the sizable petroleum potential off the west coast, downstream markets for oil and gas discoveries and the attractiveness of Sri Lanka as a place to invest.
