After a stellar introduction at OTC .06, The Next Wave returns in 2007 with much promise for success. This exciting program is designed for E&P professionals under the age of 35 who are looking to expand and grow their role within the industry.

Reception

Preliminary Program

Registration
Tickets for this special session is US $40 (includes Wednesday evening reception and Thursday lunch). Because seating is limited, participants are encouraged to purchase tickets with advance registration.
Who Should Attend?
Professionals 35 years of age and younger as well as all those interested in meeting and interacting with The Next Wave of the offshore industry should attend this new program at OTC.
General Session
The general session features industry leaders discussing technology, policy and career paths that are relevant now and 5–10 years from now.
Speakers
Jeff Spath, President Reservoir Management, Schlumberger
Jeff Spath is president of reservoir management at Schlumberger, a position he assumed in April 2006. Based in London, he oversees the identification and delivery of products and services for reservoir management. Prior to this position, he served as president of data and consulting services at Schlumberger, where he directed operations of the industry’s largest data processing and geotechnical consulting organization for clients worldwide.
Spath also has served as vice president of Schlumberger Information Solutions. In previous positions, he was responsible for data and consulting services in Indonesia. Earlier, he served as manager for Schlumberger Production Enhancement for operations in Asia.
Spath holds bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and the Mining University of Leoben, Austria.
Belinda Robinson, Chief Executive, Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association
Belinda Robinson is the chief executive officer of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, a position she has held since joining the association in July 2005.
Robinson came to the industry from the Australian Plantation Products and Paper Industry Council (A3P). As the chief executive officer at A3P, she tackled issues such as resource security, energy policy, manufacturing industry policy, trade policy and climate change. Robinson spent nine years with the Commonwealth government, including six years in senior and senior executive positions within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet where she was responsible for policies on a range of resource, industry and environmental issues. She has also worked in a variety of resource planning roles in state and local governments.
Robinson holds three degrees, including a master’s degree in environmental law from the Australian National University.

The Next Wave at OTC brings in a panel of professionals with various technical, educational and managerial experiences to answer the tough questions about careers in the industry - your questions.

Lunch is included with the $40 registration and offers attendees the chance to have more informal discussions with their peers and the general session speakers.
Roundtable Breakouts
The afternoon session enhances the level of interaction among the attendees by involving them directly in dialogues on various industry-relevant topics. Over 20 unique discussions are facilitated by industry experts, giving attendees the opportunity to network, learn and share with peers from around the world. The goal is to share best practices, brainstorm solutions, discover resources and address current issues and trends.
