Who should attend?
Professionals 35 years of age and younger as well as all those interested in meeting and interacting with The Next Wave of the offshore industry should attend this new program at OTC.

How much does it cost?
Tickets are included with full OTC registration or a Thursday one-day registration. If not attending OTC or attending any day other than Thursday, tickets are US $30.

Program Highlights
Two panel sessions feature dynamic industry leaders who will share their success stories and provide advice on leadership, career planning and progression. The panel sessions also utilize interactive voting pads that allow attendees to provide and receive real-time feedback on the issues that affect young E&P professionals. See panelist profiles below.

A reception immediately following provides the opportunity to network with industry peers and continue discussions in a social setting.

Joe Bryant
Chairman and CEO, Cobalt International Energy

Joe Bryant is a 29-year petroleum industry veteran and is presently the chairman and CEO of Cobalt International Energy, L.P. From 2004 to 2005, he served as president and COO of Unocal Corporation. From 1993 to 2004, he served as president of BP Angola, BP Canada and of an Amoco/CNOOC joint venture in China. He also held executive leadership positions for Amoco business units in The Netherlands and the Gulf of Mexico, as well as numerous engineering, financial and operational assignments throughout the continental United States. Bryant earned a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Nebraska and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Berry Petroleum Corporation.

Marisé Mikulis
Energy Industry Manager, Microsoft Corporation

In her current role as energy industry manager, Marisé Mikulis applies her more than 20 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry toward developing strategies for incorporating Microsoft’s proven enterprise technology into business solutions that meet the needs of the energy industry worldwide. Prior to joining Microsoft, she served as the chief marketing officer for Upstreaminfo, a provider of asset management solutions to the oil and gas industry. Before Upstreaminfo, she held positions at Petroleum Geo-Services, POSC, Digital Equipment Corp. and The Superior Oil Company. Mikulis has completed executive coursework at Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in Houston and holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and geology from Tufts University.

Art Smith
Chairman and CEO, J.S. Herold

Prior to acquiring control of the J.S. Herold Company from John Herold in 1984, Art Smith gained experience in oil industry analysis and corporate finance serving with Argus Research, First Boston and Oppenheimer. He holds the CFA designation and is a former appointee to the National Petroleum Council. Smith is active in IPAA, AIPN and the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. He currently serves on the boards of Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. and non-profit Dress for Success® Houston. He also serves on the Board of Visitors of Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business.

Blake Ducharme
President, Infinistar Oilfield Services

Blake Ducharme currently serves as president of Infinistar Oilfield Services, a coiled tubing, fluid pumping and nitrogen services company in Sugar Land, Texas. Before assisting in the start-up of Infinistar in 2004, he served for eight years as the US manager for Tree Savers International, a wellhead isolation tool company. Ducharme holds degrees in business and fire science from Scottsdale College in Arizona. He also holds multiple business development and operational course certifications.

John Gibson
Executive Managing Director, Fox Paine & Company, and Executive Chairman, Paradigm Geophysical

Prior to being named executive managing director of Fox Paine & Company and executive chairman and CEO of Paradigm™, John Gibson served as president for Halliburton Energy Services Group. In this role, he managed all energy-related operations, which generated nearly $8 billion in annual revenue and employed 37,000 people in 2004. Prior to serving as its president, Gibson was chief executive of Halliburton’s Landmark Graphics Corporation. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Alaska Communication Systems, Paradigm Geophysical and Parker Drilling. He earned a BS in geology from Auburn University and an MS in geology from the University of Houston.

Janeen Judah
General Manager of Reservoir and Production Engineering, Chevron Energy Technology Company

In her current role at Chevron, Janeen Judah leads a team of nearly 200 engineers responsible for reservoir and production engineering services for Chevron’s fields across the world. Before joining Chevron, Judah worked for Texaco and ARCO in various upstream petroleum engineering positions. She has been very active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, serving currently on the SPE Board of Directors as director for the Gulf Coast North America Region and previously as chairman of the SPE Gulf Coast and Permian Basin sections. Since 1996, she has been an executive committee member of the Texas A&M Petroleum Engineering Advisory Board. She holds BS and MS degrees in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M, as well as an MBA from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and a JD from the University of Houston Law Center.
