Thomas S. Ahlbrandt
World Energy Project Chief, U.S. Geological Survey
Thomas Ahlbrandt currently serves as the World Energy Project Chief for the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver where he manages a group of 41 employees and led the recent USGS World Petroleum Assessment 2000. He has 19 years of industry experience in exploration and research with ExxonMobil, BPAmoco, Amerada Hess and independents, and an additional 20 years of service with the U.S. Geological Survey. He serves as the Vice Chairman for the United Nations Committee (UNECE), Ad Hoc Group of Experts on the Supply of Fossil Fuels. This group prepared a document, which was later adopted by the United Nations, to harmonize petroleum, uranium and coal reserve and resource terminology, and coordinate it with international accounting and financial standards. He holds a B.A. and a Ph.D. degree in geology from the University of Wyoming.

Olivier Appert
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Institut Francais du Pétrole (IFP)
Olivier Appert was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) in 2003. Previously, he served as director of the International Energy Agency’s Long-Term Co-operation and Policy Analysis Directorate; senior executive vice president of ISIS, a technology holding company and publicly listed subsidiary of IFP; executive vice president at IFP in charge of research and development activities; and head of the Oil and Gas Department of the French Industry Ministry. He also served as executive director of the French Industry Minister’s cabinet and was a member of Prime Minister Pierre Mauroy’s cabinet. Appert is a graduate of the l’Ecole Polytechnique and l’Ecole des Mines.

David Archer
President and Chief Executive Officer, Petrotechnical Open Standards Consortium (POSC)
David Archer is president and chief executive officer of POSC. In this role, he is the leader of the consortium with responsibility for its direction, operation and communication with both the POSC Community and the industry at large. Throughout his professional career, Archer been very interested in new technologies and has helped pioneer several for the industry—among these are graphical user interfaces, 3D visualization, XML and Web services. The two themes of collaboration and new technologies have been central to his tenure at POSC. He holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematical sciences from Rice University as well as a B.S. degree in mathematics from Texas Christian University.

Kenneth E. Arnold
Senior Executive Vice President, AMEC Paragon
Kenneth E. Arnold serves as senior executive vice president of AMEC Paragon and was the founder of Paragon Engineering Services in Houston. He has 40 years of experience in facilities engineering design and project management, having worked on both onshore and offshore projects in many areas of the world. He is co-author of two textbooks and more than 50 technical articles on this subject. Arnold has taught facilities engineering at the University of Houston. He is a registered professional engineer and serves on the advisory board of the engineering schools of Tulane University and Cornell University. He holds an MS degree in civil engineering from Tulane University and a BS degree in civil engineering from Cornell University.

Ambassador Ali Suleiman Aujali
Chief of the Libyan Liaison Office, Washington, DC
Ambassador Ali Aujali was named Chief of the Libyan Interests Section in Washington, DC in 2004, after serving as the Charge d’Affairs at the Libyan Embassy in Ottawa, Canada. While serving in Canada, Ambassador Aujali founded the Libya/Canada Business Council. He has held a variety of positions in the Minstiry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli, including deputy director general of the Americas Department, director general of the North and South Americas Department, and director general of European Affairs. He also participated in a number of United Nations General Congress sessions and led Libyan delegations to the Forum for Dialogue in the Western Mediterranean. He holds a BA in business administration from the University of Benghazi.

Gaurdie E. Banister, Jr.
Technical Director, EP Americas, Shell Exploration and Production
Gaurdie E. Banister, Jr., serves as technical director for Shell EP Americas, where he has responsibility for drilling and development activities in North and South America. Banister is primarily responsible for the U.S. $1.3 billion capital spent in the region as well as reserves maturation. He also has oversight for strategic technology implementation and information technology. Banister joined Shell in 1980 in New Orleans and has served in many capacities since then. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Aera Energy, LLC, and Enventure Global Technology. Banister holds a degree in metallurgical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and received an honorary doctorate degree in arts and sciences from Fort Valley State University.

Gunnar Berge
Director General, Norwegian Petroleum Directorate
Gunnar Berge has served as director general of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate since 1997. He has held a number of important offices, including parliamentary leader of the Labour Party, member of the central committee of the Labour Party, and vice chairman. He also served as chairman and deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance. From 1989 to 1990 he was deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Energy and Industry. He was a delegate to the United Nation's General Assembly in 1975.

Henyo Barreto has served as executive manager for Corporate Gas and Energy and as a
member of the office of chief executive officer for Petrobras since 2004. He has been with Petrobras since 1962, rising up through various managerial positions with the latest position of executive manager of Gas and Power. Barreto holds a BS degree in geology from UFPE in Brazil and did post-graduate study in geology/sea and oil geophysics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Tom Bates
Managing Director, Lime Rock Partners
Tom Bates joined Lime Rock as a managing director in 2001. Prior to joining Lime Rock, he served as president of the Discovery Group for Baker Hughes, Inc. Earlier, he served as president and chief executive officer of Weatherford Enterra, Inc. and was responsible for the sale to EVI, Inc.—the third largest oilfield service merger ever completed at that time. Previously, he spent 15 years with Schlumberger, Ltd. in both domestic and international locations. Bates currently serves on the Board of Directors of Rotary Steerable Tools, Natco Group, NQL Drilling Tools, Crescendo Energy and Terra Seismic. He has thirty years of experience in oil service, energy and private equity, and is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Michigan (BSE, MSE, PhD).

David Bohigian
Director, Office of Policy and Strategic Planning, US Department of Commerce
David Bohigian currently serves as the director of the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning at the US Department of Commerce. As the principal policy advisor to the secretary, he formulates and recommends policy positions and initiatives for the department. His focus has been on economic and fiscal policy, as well as energy, manufacturing, trade and financial services.
Prior to his presidential appointment, Bohigian served as a managing director of Idealab. Bohigian also developed policy understanding and experience through serving in the office of Speaker Newt Gingrich, including the first 100 days of the 1995 Congress: the “Contract with America.” Bohigian received a JD from Washington University and a BA in journalism, cum laude, from Washington & Lee University.

Bruce G. Bowie
Director General, Energy and Marine Branch of the Industry Sector of Industry Canada
Bruce Bowie has served as Director General of the Energy and Marine Branch of the Industry Sector of Industry Canada since its creation in 2001. He is responsible for working in partnership with industry and federal and provincial organizations to increase the energy and marine sectors' contribution to the Canadian economy. Before joining Industry Canada, Bowie served as Chief Operating Officer for the Canadian Firearms Center within the Department of Justice. He also served in several positions with Transport Canada including Executive Director, Marine Policy Reform, Director and Marine Policy. Prior to these positions, he served as General Manager at the Ottawa International Airport.

Bowie holds a degree in public administration, a masters of engineering (transportation), as well as a degree in civil engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa.

Captain Ronald W. Branch
Chief, Maritime Safety, Security, and Environmental Protection, United States Coast Guard
Ronald Branch currently serves as Chief, Maritime Safety, Security and Environmental Protection on the staff of the Eighth Coast Guard District Commander. He is responsible for all maritime safety and security operations for 26 states and all offshore Gulf of Mexico outer continental shelf operations. Branch has held various positions in the Marine Safety Office sector in posts throughout the U.S. He also served on the Multinational Maritime Interception Force, during which time he was assigned independent duty in Kuwait to organize and execute oil containment activities in the Port of Ash Shu'aybah, resulting in the first post-Gulf War reconstitution of a Kuwait port.

Branch received his commission from the Officer Candidate School in July 1979. He holds a BS degree from Oklahoma State University, an MBA from Ashland University of Ohio, and is currently enrolled in the Naval War College Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies program.

Brad Burke
Managing Director, Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship
Brad Burke serves as managing director of the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and is responsible for leading the organization in its mission to support technology commercialization and the launch of early-stage technology companies in the Houston area. Burke joined the Rice Alliance from Viant Corporation, where he founded and launched the Houston office. Prior to Viant, he was a Principal with CSC Index, the strategic management consulting division of Computer Sciences Corporation. He led multimillion-dollar consulting projects with companies in the energy, retail, and transportation industries with Fortune 500 companies that included BP, Mobil, Arco, and Petro-Canada. He holds a BS degree in computer science and business administration from Vanderbilt University and an MBA degree from Northwestern University (Kellogg).

The Honourable Ed Byrne
Minister of Natural Resources, Government House Leader, Newfoundland and Labrador
Former Opposition Leader Ed Byrne serves as the minister of Natural Resources and government house leader for Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As a member of the House of Assembly in the PC Caucuses of three leaders, he served in several shadow portfolios including Post-secondary Education; Employment and Labour Relations; Environment, and Industry, Trade and Technology; and as chair of the Public Accounts Committee. He served as leader of the Progressive Conservative Party and leader of the Opposition from 1998 to 2001. In 1984, he was elected president of the University's Council of the Students' Union where he represented more than 10,000 students. He began his career as an adult educator specializing in curriculum development and serving as a skills training coordinator, and he went on to serve as administrator of the Atlantic Labour Training Trust Fund. He holds B.A. and B.E. degrees in Newfoundland and religious studies from Memorial University.

Eileen M. Campbell
Vice President, Human Resources, Marathon Oil Corporation
Eileen M. Campbell has served as vice president of Human Resources at Marathon Oil Corporation since September 2000. She joined Marathon at the Houston headquarters in 1991 as manager of Government Affairs, lobbying for Marathon in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico. In July 1998, she was appointed director of State Governmental Affairs for Marathon's parent company, USX Corporation. Prior to joining Marathon, Campbell served as lobbyist for United Gas Pipe Line Company, in a number of positions with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and as assistant division manager for NAM's Southern Division. She began her career as a lobbyist for the governor of New Jersey with Congress and the federal government in Washington, D.C. Campbell holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland.

The Honourable Cecil P. Clarke
Minister of Energy, Nova Scotia
Cecil Clarke currently serves as Minister of Energy for Nova Scotia, Canada. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in March 2001, and he was re-elected in August 2003. Cabinet duties have included minister of Economic Development, minister responsible for the supervision and management of the Nova Scotia Business Incorporated Act and minister responsible for: the Innovation Corporation Act; the NS Film Development Corporation; the Water Development Corporation and the World Trade and Convention Centre. Clarke also has served as project manager for Sydney Mines Renewal Association and as a program officer with the government of Northwestern Territories. Clarke holds a B.S. degree from Mount Allison University.

Steve Comstock
Vice President, Upstream Technical Computing, ExxonMobil
Steve Comstock serves as vice president of Upstream Technical Computing for ExxonMobil. This includes engineering and geoscience technical data, application, infrastructure and user support for ExxonMobil's worldwide operations. He began his career with Mobil in 1974 as a geologist. Since then, he has held various professional and management positions in Mobil’s domestic and international producing and exploration operations. His assignments included president and general manager, Mobil Norway; international exploration manager, Mobil New Exploration Ventures; manager of Geoscience Technology, Mobil Research and Development Corporation; vice president, E&P Planning and Technology; vice president, Global Business Strategy, Mobil Oil Corporation; and vice president, Mobil Drilling. Comstock holds degrees in math, physics and geology from the University of California.

David Connor
General Manager, Procurement, ChevronTexaco Overseas Petroleum
David Connor serves as general manager of Procurement for ChevronTexaco Overseas Petroleum. In this role, he is responsible for directing contracting, procurement and logistics services for the international upstream operations with particular focus on strategic sourcing, category management and development of national content. Connor has over 20 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. He has held various commercial positions on major capital projects and managing supply chain operations in the Sudan, Somalia, the North Sea and Nigeria leading to his current position.

Linda Mysliwy Conlin
Member of the Board of Directors, Export-Import Bank of the United States
Linda Mysliwy Conlin has served as a member of the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States since April 2004. She has a long and distinguished career as an international marketing and management executive, including an extensive public service background promoting commerce on both the state and federal levels. Prior to joining the bank, Conlin served as assistant secretary for Trade Development at the US Department of Commerce, where she worked to help US businesses succeed in the global marketplace. She administered the Trade Information Center and the Advocacy Center, and oversaw the President's Export Council. Conlin helped break new ground in trade in health care services for US pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies in Russia. She expanded dialogue between US and Polish businesses and government leaders as a tool to strengthen trade and investment between the US and Poland. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts.

George Coyle
Venture Executive, ChevronTexaco Technology Ventures
George Coyle serves as venture executive with ChevronTexaco Technology Ventures, the venture capital arm of ChevronTexaco Corporation. He is responsible for managing investment in innovative companies and technologies that can have impact on upstream asset performance. Prior to his current position, he served as manager of New Ventures for ChevronTexaco North America Upstream. Coyle currently serves on the Board of Directors of DeepFlex Inc., DynaPump Inc., and Downhole Injection Systems and participates as an observer on the board of MicroSeismic Inc. He joined Chevron as a geophysicist in 1988 and has since held positions of increasing responsibility in earth sciences, business and strategic planning, technology, and asset management. Coyle holds a BS degree in earth sciences from the University of New Orleans, an MS degree in geology from the University of Kansas, and an MBA from the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.

Robert P. Daniels
Senior Vice President, Exploration and Production, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
Bob Daniels serves as senior vice president, Exploration and Production, for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, with responsibility for all of the company's international and frontier exploration and production activities. Daniels also oversees Anadarko's expansion in the Middle East, where the company has assumed operatorship of a large producing field in Qatar. Daniels joined Anadarko in 1985 and has held key positions within the Exploration Group, including geologic supervisor for Algeria and manager of geology for Algeria Exploration. He also served as project manager of the Ourhoud Development Project in Algeria and manager of U.S. Onshore Exploration. He served as vice president, Canada, in 2001 and took his current role in May 2004. Daniels holds a master's degree in petroleum geology from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.S. degree in economics from The Colorado College.

Shane R. DeBeer

Shane DeBeer, a lawyer admitted to practice in California, Texas and the District of Columbia and admitted as a solicitor to the Law Society of England and Wales, is a partner resident in Chadbourne’s Moscow office. His practice is centered on oil and gas and other energy-related matters, international and corporate transactions, project finance and various other matters with a particular emphasis on structuring and financing transactions in North Africa, the Middle East and the former Soviet Union. DeBeer's experience in large international transactions includes advising on upstream projects, oilfield services, the sale and purchase of assets and interests in energy companies, investment in and by major international energy concerns, and advising global clients on energy and corporate matters in a variety of international settings. Thomas Duening serves as the director of Entrepreneurial Programs in the Ira A. Fulton School of
Engineering at Arizona State University. Before joining Arizona State University, Duening launched the Entrepreneur and Venture Development Center at the University of Houston-Downtown. Prior to that, he served as the assistant dean for Administration and International and Executive Programs at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He has served in several executive positions, including president of U.S. Learning Systems, vice president for Content Development at Edgia, Inc., and is currently president and chief executive officer of the international consulting firm INSYTE Business Research Group. Duening is the author of nine books on business, management, entrepreneurship, and outsourcing, including his latest book, titled Business Process Outsourcing: The Competitive Advantage. Barbara J. Duganier

Barbara Duganier leads Accenture’s Finance and Accounting outsourcing business for the energy market in North America, with responsibilities for selling and delivering new business in this market, as well as for Accenture’s market positioning around Sarbanes Oxley and finance and accounting outsourcing. Previously, she led a Finance Transformation Program as self-employed consultant for a Fortune 50 Company in the merchant energy sector. She spent more than 23 years with international accounting and consulting firm Andersen, serving in increasingly responsible leadership and management roles, including global chief financial officer for Andersen. Duganier holds a BBA degree from John Carroll University.

Henry Norfolk Edmundson
Director, Technical Career and Competency Management, Schlumberger
A Schlumberger employee for more than 35 years, Henry Norfolk Edmundson currently serves as director of Technical Career and Competency Management for Schlumberger in Paris. He previously has held positions such as wireline field engineer in North Africa and France, interpretation development engineer, research scientist, manager of interpretation, and director of University Relations. He founded the Eureka community-of-practice initiative and the SETC technical career ladder. He also was the founding editor of the Schlumberger Oilfield Review. Edmundson holds an M.A. degree in mechanical engineering from Cambridge and an M.S. in foundations of mathematics from Bristol University.

David C. Elliott
Senior Petroleum Evaluation Geologist, Alberta Securities Commission
David C. Elliott serves as Senior Petroleum Evaluation Geologist for the Alberta Securities Commission. He started his 38 years in the petroleum industry on the wellsite, and he has worked in technical and management roles in oil and gas field development and evaluation for Shell International, BP Canada, TransCanada Pipelines, John R. Lacey International Ltd., and Geosgil Consulting Ltd. In recent years, he has served on the CIM Reserves Definition Committee and is currently on the Standing Committee of the Canadian Oil and Gas Evaluation Handbook. He has a particular interest in statistical aspects of oil and gas reserves evaluation. He holds degrees in geology, geochemistry and mathematics.

David Eyton
Vice President, E&P Segment, Deepwater Development Projects

David Eyton was appointed Vice President of the E&P Segment of Deepwater Development Projects for BP in August 2003. He oversees all existing and new projects developed for the company in the Gulf. Employed with BP since 1982, Eyton has primarily been based in the United Kingdom. In addition he has served in Australia as the General Manager of the North West Shelf and in Trinidad as the Business Unit Leader. He also has held various petroleum engineering and commercial and business management positions.

Eyton holds an engineering degree from Cambridge University.

Claire Farley

Claire Farley provides leadership for all of Randall & Dewey’s product offerings. Clients benefit from her extensive industry contacts and from her deep understanding of oil and gas exploration, operations, business development and marketing. Previously, she spent 19 years at Texaco, where her roles included president of Worldwide Exploration & New Ventures, president of the North America Production Division and chief executive officer of HydroTexaco. Before joining Randall & Dewey in 2002, she served as chief executive officer of two start-up ventures, Trade-Ranger and Intelligent Diagnostics. Farley earned a BS degree in exploration geology from Emory University.

Jim Farnsworth
Vice President, BP Exploration
Jim Farnsworth currently holds the position of Vice President, BP Exploration, responsible for BP's global exploration program. Farnsworth previously served as Vice President, North America Exploration. He also has held positions of responsibility in Deep Water Development and Production, Alaska Exploration and Development and Managerial and Commercial positions in Scotland and BP's Headquarters in London.

Farnsworth is active with several local and state organizations including the University of Texas Department of Geoscience Advisory Board.

Stuart Ferguson

Stuart Ferguson currently serves as chief technology officer and has been a senior vice president
of Weatherford since 2002. Ferguson also has served as vice president of Intelligent Wells and then as president of Weatherford’s Completion Systems Division. Prior to joining Weatherford, Ferguson served as marketing director for U.K.-based Expro International and as technical services director for Petroline Wellsystems Ltd. Initially, Ferguson spent six years with BP as a petroleum engineer. He holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Birmingham.

Laura W. Folse
Technology Vice President, Exploration and Production Segment, BP
In her current role as technology vice president for BP’s Exploration and Production (E&P) Segment, Laura Folse is responsible for leading the centralized technology and support for BP’s business units. Her business unit of 750 scientists, engineers and technical professionals work across BP’s global enterprise to deliver research and development programs in technology, lead in developing E&P’s technical staff around the world, and offer high-end technical consultation to BP’s business value chain of the E&P Segment. Folse completed a BS in geology from Auburn University and an MS in geology from the University of Alabama. She also holds an MS in management through the Stanford Sloan Program.

Simon Frame
Senior Vice President, Wood Mackenzie
Simon Frame heads Wood Mackenzie’s Houston office and has overall responsibility for Wood Mackenzie’s client relationships in North America. Previously he served as director with responsibility for Wood Mackenzie’s energy research and consultancy activities in Asia. Simon has nearly 20 years of experience in the energy industry and has acted as project leader on a considerable number of consultancy assignments. These projects have included reviews of corporate strategy and peer group performance for major US, Japanese and European energy companies, together with detailed financial analysis of oil and gas field economics. Frame earned an MA degree in economic science from Aberdeen University.

F. Richard "Dick" Frisbie
Senior Vice President, Deepwater Technology, Oceaneering International, Inc.
Dick Frisbie currently oversees deepwater technology development for Oceaneering International, including the evolution and application of robotics, in the form of the ROV, to deepwater drilling, construction and production. Over his career he has been both a technology and business incubator for Oceaneering International.

Frisbie holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MS degree in physical oceanography from Old Dominion University. He was the recipient of the 2004 OTC Distinguished Achievement Award for Individuals.

Ronald J. Gajdica
Atlantis Development Manager, BHP Billiton
Ronald Gajdica serves as the Atlantis Development Manager for BHP Billiton in Houston. Prior to this position, he served as the Americas Production Manager and the Petroleum Engineering Manager at BHP Billiton. He was previously employed with Tenneco and Arco, where he held operations and development positions around the world. Gajdica holds BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M University and a PhD degree from Stanford University, all in petroleum engineering.

Patricia D. Galloway
Chief Executive Officer, The Nielsen-Wurster Group Inc.
Patricia Galloway is an internationally qualified expert in project management, project controls and their applications, schedule delay, acceleration, time and cost impacts, workmanship, causation and other areas. In November 2003, Galloway served as president of the American Society of Civil Engineers. She has broad experience with infrastructure, power, process, building and transportation projects throughout the U.S. and internationally. Galloway has testified at state and federal U.S. courts, international courts and arbitrations, including American Arbitration Association, International Chamber of Commerce, Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. She has served as an arbitrator and mediator in U.S. and international arbitrations. Galloway holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Purdue University, an M.B.A. degree in finance from the New York Institute of Technology. She is registered as a professional engineer and is a certified project management professional.

Peter Goode
Chief Executive Officer, Vetco International
Peter Goode serves as chief executive officer of Vetco, International. Previously he served as president of SIS, an operating unit of Schlumberger that provides consulting, software, information management and IT infrastructure services to support the core operational processes of the oil and gas industry. Prior to his current role, he was president of the Well Completion and Productivity business, after serving as president of Reservoir Management, and vice president and general manager of Integrated Project Management. He also is chairman of the Board for the Network of Excellence in Training (NexT), an oil and gas industry-focused training company owned jointly by Schlumberger, the University of Oklahoma, Texas A&M University and Heriot-Watt University. He holds a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University and a B.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Adelaide.

Jim Grimsley

He has more than 25 years of experience in the upstream energy business and has developed significant experience and expertise in large-scale change efforts, which has led to a number of very successful re-engineering projects. Yuan Guangyu
CEO and President, China Oilfield Services Limited
Yuan Guangyu currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL). Guangyu also serves as Director of China Ocean Oilfields Services (Hong Kong) Limited, an associate of COSL. Prior to joining COSL, Guangyu was appointed President of China National Offshore Oil Corporation Limited (CNOOC) in October 2001, following his post as the General Manager of China Offshore Northern Drilling Company. Guangyu served as Deputy Manager of Operation Department of CNOOC headquarters from 1996 until 1999, succeeding his post as the Deputy General Manager of China Offshore Bohai Drilling Company.

Guangyu holds a BS degree in drilling engineering from the University of Petroleum, China with and an MBA from Capital University of Economics and Business.

James T. Hackett
President and CEO, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
James Hackett was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, one of the world's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies, in December 2003. Before joining Anadarko, Hackett served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Devon Energy Corporation following its merger with Ocean Energy where he served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. Ocean Energy was a product of a merger with Seagull Energy Corporation where he was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President. He joined Seagull from Duke Energy where he led its Energy Services Division as President. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President of Pan Energy. His energy experience also includes positions in engineering, finance and marketing with NGC Corp., Burlington Resources and Amoco Oil Co.

Hackett holds a BS degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Harvard University.

Ron Harrell
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ryder Scott Company LP
Ron Harrell serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ryder Scott Company LP. He joined the consulting firm as a reservoir engineer in 1968, became vice president in 1970, director in 1980 and president in 1998. Harrell has managed reservoir engineering and geological studies worldwide, including property evaluations for acquisitions and divestitures, financing, reservoir management, gas supply analysis, gas storage studies and litigation support. Expert testimony activities include various appearances before international, federal and state agencies in court trials and arbitration hearings. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana Tech University.

J. Boyd Heath III

Boyd Heath, prior to joining Network International, served as vice president of EnCap Investments L.C., an institutional funds management firm focused on private equity investments in the oil and gas sector. During his tenure at EnCap, he was involved in the structuring and management of numerous investments in both public and private companies. Prior to EnCap, Heath worked for Koch Industries, where he focused on acquisitions in the midstream, petrochemical and power sectors. Heath began his career as a member of Chase Manhattan Bank's (now J.P. Morgan) Global Energy Group, where he structured senior and subordinated debt offerings, both public and private, and advised clients on acquisition and divestiture opportunities. He holds a BBA degree from the University of Texas.

Prior to joining GulfTerra, Heijermans served in various positions for Shell Oil Company, Shell U.K. E&P and Shell Research in the U.S.A., U.K. and The Netherlands. Heijermans holds an MS degree in civil and structural engineering from the University of Delft in The Netherlands. He also is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.

Marc Heitner
Principal Energy Specialist, Oil and Gas Policy Division, World Bank
Mark Heitner joined the World Bank in 1972 as a young professional. Following five years in the Public Utilities Department, where he was a financial analyst, he joined the Energy Department entrusted with the petroleum sector. Heitner left the Bank in 1981 and worked as an international energy consultant, and subsequently as General Manager of an upstream oil company. In 1994, he returned to the Bank and has worked on various power and petroleum projects in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Heitner’s areas of expertise include the economic and financial evaluation of projects, corporate financial analysis, the deregulation of petroleum downstream markets, the policy and regulatory aspects of natural gas and power-supply activities, energy sector reform and privatization and energy pricing.

William G. Higgs

William Higgs currently serves as President of Mustang Engineering. As a co-founder, Higgs has helped build Mustang into the premier reimbursable engineering company in the world, and at the same time, helped move the offshore industry toward reimbursable engineering. He also has developed strengths in fit-for-purpose engineering, including creating teams that could perform engineering at less than five percent of total installed cost.

Higgs graduated in the top five percent of his class at West Point, giving him the elite title of distinguished graduate.

Mark E. Hoel

Mark E. Hoel serves as vice president of Technology and Logistics for BJ Services Company. His
responsibilities include engineering, manufacturing, QHSE, training, chemical technology

Steve Holditch
Department Head and Professor, Petroleum Engineering Department, Texas A&M University
Steve Holditch is a leading management and technical expert in the upstream oil and gas industry. Holditch currently holds the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation Chair in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and is the head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, where he has been on the faculty since 1976. From 1997 to 2004, Holditch served as a Schlumberger Fellow, advising on production and reservoir engineering to the top managers at Schlumberger. He founded S.A. Holditch and Associates in 1977 and was chairman, president and chief executive officer of the company until 1997, when it became part of Schlumberger. Holditch has received some of the industry’s top awards and has served in leadership roles in various organizations, including the 2002 SPE President. He holds BS, MS and PhD degrees from Texas A&M University.
